Earth Day is the name used to refer to the various activities that take place in the spring to encourage people to be more attentive to the fragile and vulnerable environment of planet Earth. Also, Earth Day is a civic initiative open to all people, groups and organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2018, on December 22, Ecosphere NGO decided to draw the attention of Uzhhorod residents to the problem of garbage. More specifically, the importance of sorting the garbage before it gets into the general container. After all, the system of separate garbage collection in the city was implemented twice: in 2008 and in 2013. Since then, there have also been containers for separate collection of paper, plastic, and glass in the sites where the MSW containers are located. There are also recycling points, some of which also accept tin and aluminum cans, TetraPack packaging. However, only 16% of the city’s residents sort the garbage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose: <\/b>to draw the attention of residents to the problem of MSW and the need for selective garbage collection in the city of Uzhhorod.<\/span><\/p>\n

Result:<\/b><\/p>\n

  1. an open lecture on the harmfulness of plastic and the real state of affairs in the field of solid waste management in Uzhhorod were held;<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. an exhibition of children’s drawings on this subject was held in the historical complex “Owl’s Nest”;<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. held a public action on the square. Theatrical with different hold classes for children.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
