Ecosphere NGO is a permanent partner of Uzhgorod city government in the implementation of local sustainable energy policy. Since the city’s accession to the Covenant of Mayors in 2016 and the approval of the Uzhgorod Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan by 2030 in 2018, the Uzhgorod City Council, in partnership with Ecosphere, has progressed steadily in towards the primary purpose of this document.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the annual events to educate and inform the city community is to hold Sustainable Energy Days. These days are usually held between May and June, starting in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

Area of \u200b\u200bactivity:<\/b> Uzhhorod.<\/span><\/p>\n

Objective:<\/b> To draw the attention of Uzhgorod people to the problems of climate change and the need to change their habits in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. To disseminate information about the Agreement of Mayors and SEAPC of Uzhgorod until 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Result:<\/b><\/p>\n

During the whole week of June 20-25, 2019 in Uzhgorod various educational and information actions for the locals took place:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. workshops for collecting solar-powered constructors, quizzes and quests were held for the children’s audience (video of the workshop see here<\/a>)<\/span>;<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. for the heads of the ACMHs of the city, open lectures and consultations on energy audit and state programs were held for attracting credits for energy saving measures and improving the energy efficiency of apartment buildings;<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. for everyone interested in the main square of the city, various technologies and samples of renewable energy sources were demonstrated – solar batteries and collectors, heat pumps;<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. for all City Promotions \u201cReduce CO2 emissions!\u201d everyone could drink coffee brewed on a solar hub, be convinced of the efficiency of the solar collector (demonstration model was exhibited), view the installation “City of the Future”, take part in various master classes, including painting their own eco-bag.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
